I am so very delighted to report that "Time to Rise" was sold last week-end from the show "AT LARGE" at the Fort Gallery!
"Time to Rise"
We hung our new groupshow "THE LARGE SHOW" at the Fort Gallery yesterday and this is my contributiom. The show runs from Jan. 23 till Feb. 10, 2013 and the opening reception is on this Friday night from 7 - 9pm. Why not come out and see it in "real life"? Other great works are on display as well.
Go to www.fortgallery.ca for further info.
From Sept. 12 - 30, 2012, the Fort Gallery will be hosting my yearly show with fused glass artist, Judy Jones. It will be all new work from both of us and will be a show full of light and colour.
We will both be in attendance at the Opening Reception on Friday, Sept 14, in the evening from 7 - 9pm. Judy will be in the gallery on Sundays during the show, I will be there on Saturdays from 12noon - 5pm and we both hope to see as many friends and others as possible.
The Fort Gallery presents its latest group show of smallish paintings based on its members painting plein air in Fort Langley over the last two week-ends. My 4 paintings (see gallery D) reflect the miserable weather we had - the last Saturday in pouring rain!
The show runs from June 20 -July 8 with the Opening reception this Friday evening, June 22, from 7 - 9pm.
This is my contribution to the Fort Gallery's yearly challenge to its members: to purchase no more than $40s worth of hardware stuff and create a piece of art with that. We hung the show to-day and it looks great - the inventiveness and creativity is truely amazing and it is well worth a visit.
The show runs from March 7 - March 25 with the Opening this Friday night from 7 - 9pm.

To-night is our Opening Reception for the annual Christmas show at the Fort Gallery - we hung it last Monday (see above) and let me tell you: it looks fantastic!! The gallery is full of smallish and affordable works of art by all the members of the collective, hung salon-style, so that the purchaser can take the piece with them at once. A new work will then be hung in the empty space as long as we have enough works. So the show will be constantly changing, but it will be worth a visit at any time.
Gallery hours: Wednesday till Sunday 12noon - 5pm, Monday and Tuesday: closed.
See www.fortgallery.ca for further info.
The show "PaintScapes and GlassShapes II" at the Fort Gallery was a great success with a good turn-out of visitors and a few sales: I sold three of my newest paintings, Judy sold one glass piece! Plus quite a few art cards. And we both had a lot of good feed-back, not least about how well our work looked together and how well the way it was hung worked. So we will definitely team up again in a year's time.
A few days after taking down above show I was invited to show my work at the Water Shed Arts Cafe' (at #11 - 20349 88th Ave in Walnut Grove, Phone: 604 882-0651) and we hung that show yesterday. It includes most of the work from the Fort Gallery except the ones that sold, plus "Tapestry 5" that was accepted into the Fraser Valley Biennale 2011 and was shown there over the summer.
The Fort Gallery's annual fundraiser - The Blue Plate Special - will take place on October 14, 2011, from 7:00 - 12:00am and it is really an exciting event: great food, live music, lots of paintings (donated by the gallery's artists) for the draw and artists willing to talk about art and answer your questions. There is also doorprizes and a silent auction!
It takes place in Fort Langley Community Hall on Glover Road and tickets are still available: a $200.00 ticket will give you a piece of art worth much more than the ticketprice while a $30.00 ticket will give you a delightful evening with access to the Silent Auction which this year also contains non-art objects and to the doorprizes, food etc.

The Fort Gallery will host an exhibition of my new work from September 14th - October 2nd, 2011. Sharing the gallery with me will be fused glass work by Judy Jones. It should be a show full of colour and light and well worth a visit - and we would love to see you there. We will both be attending the Opening as well as manning the gallery on week-ends - Judy on Sundays, while I will be there on Saturdays.
The Opening Reception will be on Friday, September 16, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm,
