Dorthe Eisenhardt has been painting all her life, has shown her work consistently in solo-, juried-, and group shows since 1988 and has won several awards. She studied intensively at Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC, from 1988 till 1995, and has taken numerous courses and workshops. She has been painting full  time since 2001. 
Born and raised in Denmark, she arrived in Canada in 1967 and passed the Canadian exam for foreign trained  physiotherapists at UBC in 1969. Since then she has lived in the Metro Vancouver, BC, while working at several at the area's hospitals and raising her three children.
